Residency and Fellowship Program Update
The UMMC Dermatology Residency Program currently boasts 11 residents in training in the PGY-2 through -4 years with three PGY-1s joining us next year. Our sixth class of graduates finished in June 2021, although graduation again looked a little different this year due to COVID-19.
We are happy to report that, once again, all of our recently graduated residents have passed their Dermatology Boards and that the program is performing in the upper quartile of all residency programs in the country!
Dr. Caroline Crabtree has remained in Jackson, MS with Magnolia Dermatology at their Lelia Drive and Clinton locations. She specializes in the full range of dermatological care including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. In her free time, Dr. Crabtree loves spending time with her family. Her husband, Reaves, is an orthopedic surgery resident at UMMC and they two of them recently welcomed a daughter, Virginia Rose Crabtree, on August 2, 2021.
Dr. Ashton Davis also elected to remain in Jackson, MS with Magnolia Dermatology, practicing at both their Lelia Drive and Clinton locations. She will be offering all aspects of Dermatological care from pediatrics and general dermatology to complex medical dermatology, surgery, and cosmetics.
Dr. Ira Dan Harber joined Drs. Jeffrey Houin and Brad Greenhaw of Dermatology Center of North Mississippi, P.A. Their central location is in Tupelo, MS, and Dr. Harber began practicing at a new clinical site in Corinth, MS that opened in July 2021. He will also be seeing consults at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, MS. Dr. Harber and his wife welcomed a daughter, Georgia Grace Harber, on December 15, 2020.
Dr. Caitlin Reed joined the staff of St. Dominic’s Medical Associates in Madison, MS to establish their first dermatology clinic. She is also honored to continue caring for Dr. Ralph Daniel’s patients when he retired in July after over 30 years of practice. Dr. Daniel has been a longtime partner and affiliate faculty member at UMMC in addition to his private practice. Dr. Reed is offering medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology care to her patients.
